Does a country's leaders determine whether a country will survive or not?

+2 votes

A country's leaders are the ones who set the course and chart the direction for any country to follow.

Good leaders are able to chart a good course and good direction for their countries to follow, while bad leaders will lead their countries astray and towards doom.

The leadership in any country is very important and it could spell the difference between having a country that grows and prosper, or a country that turns corrupt and gets embroiled in civil wars/ financial ruins.

Any well-respected country in the world usually has very good leaders at its leadership helm, while countries that are in disarray normally have corrupt leaders in control of them.

From my observation whether or not the people are able to keep a leader alive and have peaceful transitions between leaders is more determinative.
