I am receiving several “hang up” phone calls a day via cellphone. What’s up with that?

Some days as many as 4 or 5. Generally all calls are from different states, area codes etc.

I don’t assume anything malicious just annoying. I block these but they continue to call from other numbers. Is this telemarketing gone awry???

How do they get my cell number??

They are most likely on auto dial. If you don't speak it will hang up, it connects to an operator if you say anything.

Our info is out there for all to get hold of.

Lists of contact details can be sold on the anyone.

Some people or sales people will dial random numbers in hopes that the person will return the call. This saves them from having to pay for the call.
