“Courage lies in every heart and the expectation is that one day it will be summoned!”

Now Joe’s crediting his Mother with a quote from Sandy Hook?

Or did the Sandy Hook Speaker plagiarize the elder Mrs. Biden?

At this point, I'm unsure.

From what I understood is Biden's mother said something similar to what the poet Maya Angelou wrote, "History, despite it's wrench pain, cannot be unlived, but if we face it with courage, we need not live it again."
What  Biden said his mother said was "Courage lies in every heart, and the expectation is that one day it will be summoned."  Therefore, in my opinion, Biden wasn't giving his mother credit for what Maya Angelou wrote, but giving her credit for firmly establishing a similar meaning.

Sandy Hook's tragedy occurred on December 14, 2014.

Joe Biden made his remarks on September 10, 2011 to commemorate the 9/11 tragedy.

Personally, I don't think using some of his remarks from 2011 as part of the Sandy Hook Promise should be considered plagiarism. If Joe Biden's mother used to say it, then I'd guess it was not a copyrighted original statement from her, either.

The remarks I am referring to are from Joe Biden 9-11-23 quoting his mother as making a quote that was clearly from Sandy Hook Dec 14, 2014.

Joe embellishes quite frequently saying recent he taught at University of Pennsylvania.. False!

That he drove an 18 wheeler… False.

That he was arrested with Nelson Mandela … False.

Or that he was at ground zero the day after the 9-11 event! …False he was in Washington, DC

These statements are often followed by his claims it is “ The God’s honest truth!”

Many politicians make exaggerations about their time in office. However Joe just misses the boat completely?

@ Lady4u!

At some point, as long as, I can remember presidents have lied or stretched the truth. Some definitely are worse than others. I eventually figured it to be the crazy nature of politics and diplomacy, in general. Maybe we can blame it on the rain. LOL! I'm thinking it's because our presidents might be convince that the lies are in the national interests.  Also, the fact is presidents are said to  lie to possible shield the public from damaging information that could undermine sensitive missions, perhaps. Or to add character though false. Honestly , I really don't know. No doubt lies are one of the many complexities of human nature.

Also, my answer/opinion to your above question is referring to the quote relating to Biden's mother, was taking  from Biden's current 9-11-23 speech. The public has complete access to all our past and current presidents remarks. I usually read them over as I did this one. The remarks are there regarding that quote which formed my answer.

Below I provided that link so you can pinpoint why I felt as I did with this particular remark. It starts from the beginning so you'll need to skim through to that point.

- Link below is to reference the remarks by President Biden to Service Members, First Responders, and Their Families on the Anniversary of 9/11 | Anchorage, AK | The White House

Lady, he may have REPEATED his remarks in 2023, but he ALSO quoted his mother saying that back in 2011.  ::smh::
