Why has it become much harder and much more difficult to make money on the internet right now?

This is because the internet is constantly evolving and growing in both size and complexity as time goes by/ on.

In the early days of the internet, they were only a handful of websites being created and developed on the internet.

As a result, making money on the internet back in the early stages of it was relatively easy and effortless.

However, as time progresses, the entire internet itself has expanded exponentially over the years and decades, with an ever increasingly number of brand new websites and web portals being made by new website owners and webmasters.

Every single day, there are a lot of brand new websites and web portals being created and developed by professional web developers and there is no sign of this trend ever abating in the coming near future.

Tons of brand new websites and web portals, which number in the MILLIONS, are appearing onto the internet scene, and it means that existing web developers and webmasters will have to contend with an ever increasing flood of brand new websites and web portals that strive very hard to compete against them.

In any industry in the world, a high level of competition that is presented by brand new competitors, such as brand new companies and businesses, will effectively compete against the already existing old companies and businesses that have already been doing business and making money in the industry for a very long time.

The new competitors will definitely eat up a substantial portion of the profits that are already made and enjoyed by the current existing group of old companies and businesses that have already been working in the industry for either many years or many decades.

This means that old companies and businesses will have work even harder than before to either make the same or greater amount of income/ profits for themselves.

The business landscape is always changing constantly and regularly all the time!

In order to effectively survive and thrive in the long term, any company and/ or business should continue to work very hard to stay and remain competitive in their own respective industries and to always adapt to any new and important dominant trends that are happening in their own individual unique industries.

Changes in any industries will always be there and will always be there forever!

All industries will change themselves every day/ week/ month/ year and companies/ businesses must react/ respond to any changes immediately and as soon as possible, in order to stand a good and high chance of surviving and thriving in any unforeseen and in any unpredictable, sudden and drastic changes that occur in any industry in the world.

the answer is simple.  The ability for the customer to shop around and then think it is a good idea to ask for the lowest price.  It isn't.  Also, some companies have changed the shipping game

People comparison shop. And someone always undersales your price for something.  Content to make pennies instead of dollars as long as they are selling in big quantities.  The small seller has a hard time making cash online.

I disagree somewhat. A lot of small businesses are making good money drop shipping on eBay and Amazon, among other places, to bring home some substantial bucks. Two things are important with any business.... controlling yoir traffic flow and effective advertising. Having your sotes rank high on Google and other search engines via smart SEO utilization have allowed businesses to capitalize.
