Is Apple's official operationg system much better and much safer than Microsoft's official operating system?

+2 votes

I have ever heard before that Apple's operating system is a lot superior than Microsoft's operating system, as it is much less likely to be susceptible to getting infected by any computer viruses in the world.

This is because the creators and developers of any computer viruses in the world seem to prefer to target Microsoft Windows users rather than the users of Apple's operating system, as the former is the preeminent and predominant operating system with the greatest amount of market share in the computer software industry.

As a result, Apple's operating system is much more stable and much more safer than Microsoft's Windows operating system, mainly due to it having considerably and substantially lesser deadly and lethal computer viruses wanting to infect and attack it.

How far is that true and correct in reality?

The answer will depend on the team one is on, Team Apple or Team Mac.   It's like asking the Dems and the Repubs which side is best.  (bad example, because the answer is neither, but you get my drift)

Look in the mirror...that's your competition.

I do not really understand your answer to my question, Leanna.

Please clarify yourself even further, so that I'm able to get a much deeper and much clearer understanding of what you are trying to say to me.

To clarify - Not necessarily.

I have been into computers for years and I tell you.... when you break open a Mac and PC, essentially they share a lot of the same stuff. Especially when some people say a Mac is more powerful... pish tosh. PCs nowdays are coming with quad core processors on the motherboard or better.

Now, my area of expertise has bee virus repair, removal, and software troubleshooting. I do some hardware repair but I have specialists that can do it much better, so I digress to them when clients need certain things I neither have the time or knowledge to do.

I will tell you this much..... in terms of platforms..... it is MUCH easier to write programs and viruses on Windows than it is for Mac.

I am currently using the very first Mac I've ever owned and a lot of it is a learning curve because I got it for multimedia purposes. It is the centerpiece of my pre-production music studio. Is it better than any Windows I had? That remains to be seen, as this computer isn't even 3 months old yet.
